My name is Tyler Carlson. I’m currently a Junior at Middle Tennessee State University. I’m here pursuing a degree in Interactive Media while minoring in music. I’m looking forward to learning new skills that I will always be able to improve on. I’ve always had an interest in internet media considering I grew up in the Digital Age.
My passion for music came later in my life. I started to get more into music my junior year of high school. That was the year I joined chorus and was taught to sing. I didn’t like the chorus songs they made me sing. They usually weren’t in English or they were written centuries ago. I wanted to sing more current songs so the audience and the choir would have a better understanding of the music. My dislike of these choral arrangements made me ambishious to write songs of my own.
At first, I was terrible and my material was trash. Over time, writing songs changed my life. As I improved my writing, I would become more and more dependent on writing for venting and releasing stress. I’ve written many songs in many different genres. No matter what kind of song I write, I always feeling better after putting pencil to paper.
I’ve been keeping a close eye on the Hip Hop and R&B music and culture before I even discovered my hidden talent. I hope this blog connects me with other listeners and creators of Hip Hop and R&B. This site is a platform where we can share our opinions on all the music, current events, and business decisions going on in the industry. By the end of the semester, one of my goals is too reach a small community of music listeners. People who continuously come back to my site in their free time.
